Following his breakout sophomore season, Godwin began receiving double coverage from opposing defenses. After struggling to find his stride at the start of his junior season, Godwin punished the Temple Owls with 117 yards receiving and a touchdown. In what proved to be his final game as a Nittany Lion, Godwin recorded a career-high 187 yard son nine catches and scored two touchdowns in a thrilling Rose Bowl loss to USC. Later that month Godwin announced he was going to declare for the 2017 NFL Draft.
